This fascinating green gemstone didn´t take thousands of years to form. Moldavite formed instantantly in the heat of an asteroid impact 14.7 million years ago in southeastern Germany. It is considered a mineraloid because it solidified so quickly that the atoms didn´t have time to get organized and create the crystalline structures we find in minerals.
Diamond has long been birthstone for April in both the USA and Britain. It is the world’s most popular gem. Many people enjoy diamond because of its brilliance and because of its dispersion. Dispersion is the ability of a gem to act as a prism and separate light into its component colors. It is a great stone for someone born on a Saturday or Sunday.
Topaz has long been a birthstone for November. Until 1912, it was also a birthstone for August. It is a great stone for Sagittarians and people born on Sunday.
[NB: 1 Natural Moldavite, 2 Natural Tsavorite, 12 Natural White Topaz, & 2 Diamonds]
